These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your participation in our hosted community expeditions and use of our services. By applying for and joining a Pletoura journey, you agree to these Terms.
1. Nature of Services
Pletoura is a travel community and consultancy. We provide Planning, Curation, and On-Ground Hosting services.
Our Role: We act as your adventure facilitator and group leader. We map routes, identify “Base” locations, and provide on-ground logistics management.
What we are NOT: We are not a licensed travel agency, tour operator, or transport provider. We do not sell “travel packages” as defined under the Singapore Travel Agents Act.
2. The “Direct Booking” Model
To maintain flexibility and compliance:
Independence: All accommodation, transport (including motorcycle rentals), and third-party activities are booked and paid for directly by you.
Third-Party Contracts: Any links or “Base” locations provided are suggestions for group cohesion. Your legal contract for those services is strictly between you and the service provider (e.g., the hotel or rental shop). We are not responsible for their performance, safety standards, or service quality.
3. Application, Fees, and Payment
(a) Application: Participation is by application only. We reserve the right to decline any applicant to ensure group safety and dynamic.
(b) Hosting & Curation Fee: Your payment to Pletoura is a service fee for the research, planning, and on-ground facilitation of the journey.
(c) Deposit: A 30% deposit is required within three (3) days of acceptance to secure your spot. This deposit is non-refundable but is transferable to another person or a future trip within 12 months, subject to our approval.
(d) Balance: The remaining 70% is due 30 days before the start date.
4. Cancellations & Changes
By You: If you cancel after full payment, we will refund the portion of the balance that has not yet been committed to logistics or local coordination.
By Us: We may cancel a journey due to insufficient participants or safety concerns. In such cases, your Hosting Fee will be refunded in full. We are not liable for any non-refundable costs you have incurred (e.g., flights or bike rentals).
5. Travel Requirements & Documentations
You are solely responsible for:
- Passport validity (min. 6 months) and necessary visas
- Travel Insurance: Comprehensive insurance covering medical, emergency evacuation, and the specific activities of the trip (e.g., motorcycling) is mandatory.
- Motorbike Trips: A valid motorcycle license and an International Driving Permit (IDP) are required for all self-riding participants.
6. Participant Responsibilities & Conduct
Pletoura is a community-based experience. You agree to:
- Follow all safety briefings and route guidance
- Respect local customs and the group’s shared schedule
- Maintain a flexible, “go-with-the-flow” mindset—the itinerary is a base, not a guarantee
We reserve the right to remove any participant, without refund, whose behavior is deemed dangerous, disrespectful, or significantly disruptive.
7. Motorbike & Self-Riding Activities (High Risk)
By participating in a riding expedition, you acknowledge:
Inherent Risk: You understand that riding in Southeast Asia involves high risk, including injury or death. You voluntarily assume these risks.
Personal Responsibility: You are the sole operator of your vehicle. You are responsible for all riding decisions, compliance with local traffic laws, and any damage to the rented vehicle or third-party property.
No Liability: Pletoura/Inspired Trip is not liable for mechanical failures of rental bikes, road accidents, or injuries sustained during riding activities.
8. Health, Safety and Liability
Liability Cap: To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount of the Hosting & Curation Fee paid to us.
No Warranty: We do not warrant that “Base” accommodations or suggested restaurants will meet specific standards. These are chosen for authenticity and character.
Emergency Assistance: While we carry basic first aid and coordinate emergency contacts, all medical and evacuation costs are your responsibility.
9. Force Majeure
We are not liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond our control, including natural disasters, pandemics, political unrest, government-imposed travel restrictions, or transport disruptions.
10. Intellectual Property
All content on our website, including text, images, branding, and itineraries, remains our intellectual property unless otherwise stated.
You may not reproduce or distribute any content without our prior written consent.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by Singapore law. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Singapore.
12. Amendments
We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be published on our website. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
